Sinky I don't have one, I actually use a digital laser temperature gun to take temperatures. The Aldi one is probably supplied with a thermocouple
which you can place up against objects you wish to get a temperature reading on. Could be used on exhaust header pipes individually a cooler header means that cylinder is not running right, also cooling systems, cups of coffee tea scotch. Virtually whatever you need to get a reading on. As it is Aldi that is selling it, and their stuff is cyclic I don't know whether UK is selling it at the same time. If Aldi is selling them probably better to go and read the instructions, and see if you would use the temperature function.
Regards Martin.

We didn't get that here in the States. This week they have a Waterproof 4K Video Action Camera with all kind of accessories for $59.95! Tempting...

Sinky, you should be able to purchase a K-type thermocouple and connect it to the multimeter to get temperature readings.  The Fluke 80-BK probe is most likely compatible (check the banana plugs on your meter) and readily available in many places.

I love Aldi they get some really good stuff. I had one of their motorcycle GPS's for ten years until it committed suicide, fell off in the mountains my fault. I also have an inspection camera and an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner which I use for injectors and switch cleaning. Every August they have their annual motorcycle gear sale, I have now accumulated 3 pair kelvar jeans with armour, two mid layer tops, two mid layer pants, two Merino bike jumpers, one pair of waterproof over pants with liner, three pair of gloves and a set of waterproofs. Had no problem with any of their products some of which are now over twelve years old plus.
Regards Martin.
